Minimal. There’s always some dust, it’s just the nature of the work, though we have invested heavily in vacuum units and have well maintained machinery to avoid airborne dust as much as possible - we also vacuum fastidiously prior to coating.

Most jobs that are 100m2 and under take 5 days to complete, though this may change with complexity of the work involved. We can discuss this at the time of a site visit.

For floor sanding - Yes you will need to vacate your house while the work is being done, unless you can live in part of the house that does not require you to walk on the flooring being sanded.
For installations - you can stay in the house and live as usual, though we recommend for ease of workflow, to stay else where if possible.

No we do not fill long run gaps. Your timber flooring needs space to grow and shrink through the seasons and filling often results in bulging or unsightly cracking.

If your floor is a dark orange colour, it is most probably a solvent polyurethane coating that has changed colour with exposure to UV light over time. You will be amazed once we sand that coating off, what lies underneath. There are a wide range of staining, tinting and natural looking finishes available.

Water based polyurethanes, solvent based polyurethanes, penetrating oils, hardwax oils and all the colours under the sun.

We recommend a minimum of 24-48 hours.

We recommend a minimum of 48-72 hours, though this can be bought forward provided all furniture is lifted and place, not dragged.

For a polyurethane/lacquer finish we recommend regular vacuuming and weekly mopping with a spray mop of some kind. A deep clean and recoat every 4-5 years will help extend the service life dramatically.
For an oiled floor we recommend use the cleaning soap provided and follow the cleaning instructions for your product. A deep clean and maintenance cast of oil should be applied every 18-36 months depending on traffic and use.

A deep clean and a re-coat using our power scrubber machine is the easiest way to rejuvenate a tired but not worn through coating. Give us a call for a site visit and we can assess the floor to give you some realistic options.
